🎯 The Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise data platforms, supporting high‑impact business use cases in complex data environments.
You will act as a technical leader, mentoring data engineers, driving engineering best practices, and partnering closely with business and senior stakeholders to translate requirements into production‑grade data solutions.
📍 Job location: Pune or Bangalore (Hybrid — 3 days per week in the office)
🕒 Contract type: Permanent
🗓 Target start date: June 2025
⏰ Working hours: Full-time (40h/week), aligned with the GMT timezone (starting at 1:00 PM IST)
💵 Compensation: 30lakh to 40lakh

💥 Your Impact
In this role, you will:
Act as a go-to technical expert, supporting the resolution of complex data, performance, and architectural challenges
Conduct technical guidance sessions and code reviews, strengthening team capabilities in data modelling, Snowflake optimisation, and pipeline design
Drive onboarding and upskilling initiatives, reducing ramp-up time and improving overall team productivity
Design and implement end-to-end data architectures and reusable frameworks for enterprise data products
Build, optimise, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, Snowflake, Airflow, and Kafka (CDC)
Develop pipelines processing 30M+ records daily and enterprise platforms handling billions of records, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability
Implement advanced data engineering practices such as SCD Type 2, modular pipeline design, and performance tuning
Optimise Snowflake workloads and SQL queries, improving pipeline performance and reducing compute costs
Drive continuous improvement initiatives through query optimisation and code refactoring
Simplify and modernise orchestration by transitioning pipelines (e.g., Airflow → Snowflake Tasks)
Design and maintain logical and physical data models aligned with business and analytical requirements
Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance, including publishing datasets to tools like Collibra
Implement robust data validation, monitoring, and lineage practices
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Business Analysts, QA, DevOps) in an Agile delivery environment
Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
Support end-to-end delivery across DEV, QA, and PROD environments, ensuring reliability and structured releases
Contribute to enterprise-level data initiatives
Enable data-driven decision-making through curated datasets and monitoring dashboards (e.g., Power BI)
Resolve large-scale data challenges (e.g., billions of records), ensuring accuracy and consistency for downstream analytics

👤 What We’re Looking For
Must-haves
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, including leadership or senior-level responsibilities
Strong proficiency in Python and advanced SQL
Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including:
Streams & Tasks
Time Travel
UDFs
Data sharing
Performance optimisation
Proven experience building and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
Experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow or Snowflake Tasks)
Exposure to streaming/CDC technologies (e.g., Kafka)
Strong understanding of data modelling, warehousing concepts, and analytics use cases
Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams
Strong communication skills and fluency in English
Nice-to-haves
Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra)
Exposure to BI and monitoring tools (e.g., Power BI)
Experience with tools like Alteryx for data ingestion or transformation
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Background in consulting or enterprise-scale data environments
