💵 Compensation: £72,000–£92,000 gross annual base salary (Experienced) or £92,000–£122,000 (Senior), depending on experience and scope.

📋 What You'll Architect

At Keyrus, we help organisations transform complexity into measurable outcomes by combining technology, data, intelligence and human decision-making. We bring together data, AI and engineering expertise to move beyond experimentation and deliver solutions that work in real business environments.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll work directly with clients to take AI use cases from discovery to production. You'll get close to users, understand how their work actually happens, build the technical solution yourself and stay involved until it delivers measurable results.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems in real-world environments. You'll combine software development, AI engineering, data integration and technical problem-solving with direct client collaboration.

What You'll Do

• Build end-to-end solutions: Develop and deploy AI-powered applications that connect source data, models, APIs and enterprise systems to real users.

• Stay hands-on: Write, test, review and maintain code using technologies such as Python, TypeScript, Java or .NET.

• Work directly with users: Understand operational challenges, observe how people work and translate their needs into practical technical solutions.

• Integrate with enterprise environments: Connect applications to APIs, identity systems, cloud platforms and existing business systems, addressing the realities of production deployment.

• Deliver production-ready AI: Build and integrate LLM, RAG or agentic capabilities, with appropriate evaluation, guardrails, reliability and cost controls.

• Own deployment and rollout: Take technical responsibility for bringing solutions into production, resolving integration issues and supporting adoption.

• Adapt as needs evolve: Respond to new information and changing priorities, iterating quickly while maintaining technical quality and clear communication.

• Measure outcomes: Work with clients to understand whether the solution is delivering the intended result and identify what needs to improve.

• Feed the next cycle: Document results, lessons learned and emerging requirements so the squad can make informed decisions about the next iteration or scaling the solution.

🛠️ What You Bring

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience building and deploying software solutions in production within complex enterprise or client environments.

• Strong hands-on software engineering skills, with evidence of continuing to code in a language such as Python, TypeScript, Java or .NET.

• Experience delivering solutions end-to-end, from data sources and integrations to the application or experience used by end users.

• Direct client-facing experience, including the ability to work effectively with users, technical peers and senior stakeholders.

• Strong integration experience involving APIs, identity and access, enterprise systems and cloud environments.

• Professional fluency in English

Technical & Professional Skills

• Practical software engineering, debugging, testing and production deployment skills.

• Experience integrating AI capabilities into applications, including LLMs, RAG or agentic workflows in production.

• Understanding of API design, authentication, authorisation, SSO/OAuth2 and enterprise integration patterns.

• Ability to work with imperfect requirements, investigate real business problems and adapt solutions as new information emerges.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.

Nice to Have

• Experience across data engineering, data platforms or analytics, including working with complex source data.

• Experience evaluating AI output quality, implementing guardrails and measuring the cost of AI workloads.

• Experience in consulting, technology services or embedded client delivery.

• Experience working in iterative delivery environments where discovery, engineering and validation happen continuously.

• Bottom of the range
